STEP 1

Start with the details people ask for

Create a record for each home system or major piece of equipment. Save the make, model, installation date and where the manual or warranty document lives.

  • Use the document’s actual stated terms for warranty information.
  • Save a receipt or installer reference when available.
  • Keep the vendor contact associated with the system.
STEP 2

Write down what changed

After a service visit, add the date, contractor and a short factual description of completed work. Save the receipt and any useful photos in the same history.

  • Separate completed work from recommendations for later.
  • Record replaced parts when the service document identifies them.
  • Keep the original service document alongside your summary.
STEP 3

Give the next reminder a reason

Set reminders using the manufacturer’s instructions or the service interval supplied by a qualified contractor. A seasonal plan becomes more useful when it reflects your saved systems and completed work.

  • Record the source of the interval instead of guessing one.
  • Review a reminder after service is completed.
  • Use Home Plus guidance alongside your saved records.
